Cabinet Resolution No. (97) of 2025 Concerning the Reorganization of the UAE Gender Balance Council
💡In line with the United Arab Emirates’ commitment to upholding the principles of social justice, strengthening its leading role in the field of women’s empowerment, and achieving gender balance, and in accordance with the vision of the wise leadership to support women’s participation across various sectors, Cabinet Resolution No. (97) of 2025 was issued concerning the reorganization of the UAE Gender Balance Council. The key provisions of this Resolution are as follows:
✅The Council’s headquarters shall be located in the Emirate of Dubai, and its objectives shall be as follows:
✔️Achieving gender balance and ensuring equal opportunities between men and women across various sectors.
✔️Strengthening the State’s global competitiveness in the area of gender balance.
✔️Supporting the participation of both men and women in achieving sustainable development.
✅Council Mandates
✔️Proposing and reviewing policies and legislation related to gender balance.
✔️Coordinating and Following-up with the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre.
✔️Representing the State in international forums and proposing the conclusion of international agreements that would contribute to achieving the Council’s objectives.
✔️Establishing a comprehensive national database on gender balance.
✅The Council shall be composed of a Chairperson, a Vice-Chairperson, and a number of members. Membership shall be for a term of three (3) years, automatically renewable for similar terms.
