The Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) is a Ministry of Economy initiative that aims to create a platform for worldwide discussion on the core ideas that underpin international investment policies, strategies, and practices for smart and equitable global growth.
The Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) emphasized its six pillars of Foreign Direct Investment, Small and Medium Enterprises (SME), Foreign Portfolio Investment, Start-Ups, Future Cities, and the 50 Years Project Initiative, and will have a far broader scope and coverage.
The Annual Investment meeting was held on 29th March 2022 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo Dubai 2020, under the Patronage of H.H. Shiekh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and H.E Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy.
Dr. Haitham Salman, Managing Partner and Mr. Rohan Moin, Senior Associate of Middle East Alliance, attended the 11th edition of the Annual Investment Meeting under the theme “Investments in Sustainable Innovation for a Thriving Future”.
The panel discussion was focused on SMEs and start-ups, their challenges, the need to grow and their survival, particularly during the pandemic. Dr. Haitham and Mr. Rohan actively participated with the panel by asking questions and interacting about SMEs and their shortcomings and pitfalls, as well as apprising them of the need of a legal framework required to provide a conducive environment both SME’s and startups.
Dr Haitham and Mr. Rohan also engaged with young entrepreneurs having their own startup booths in order to understand the challenges faced by them from a legal and regulatory standpoint which hindered their growth and entry to market.
