Federal Decree No. (126) of 2024 Regarding the Zayed Humanitarian Heritage Foundation

 

In pursuit of preserving the legacy of the founding father of the state, Sheikh Zayed, may God rest his soul in peace, along with his charitable and humanitarian work, as well as the efforts of the state in humanitarian and developmental activities, this Decree No. (126) was issued to establish Zayed Humanitarian Heritage Foundation. The Foundation’s main headquarters is located in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and it may have additional branches within the country or abroad.

• The Zayed Humanitarian Heritage Foundation enjoys legal personality, financial and administrative independence, and full legal capacity, enabling it to carry out its activities for which it was established. The Foundation shall have the role of supervision and follow-up over the following entities, for example:

1. Zayed Bin Sultan Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Work.

2. Global Institute for the Fight Against Infectious Diseases.

3. Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Best Teacher.

 

Objectives of the Zayed Humanitarian Heritage Foundation:

1. Unifying efforts towards the most impactful issues affecting both the local and global communities.

 

2. Supporting and enhancing the state’s strategic plans in the fields of humanitarian, charitable, and developmental work, and managing current and future humanitarian, charitable, and developmental initiatives.

 

3. Encouraging a culture of humanitarian, charitable, and developmental work within the country and globally, while showcasing the achievements of humanitarian efforts at the national, regional, and international levels.

 

Powers of the Zayed Humanitarian Heritage Foundation:

1. Establishing the general policy, setting priorities for entities, and overseeing and monitoring them.

2. Entering into contracts, agreements, and memoranda of understanding in the field of humanitarian work.

 

3. Impactful investment in institutions and companies to achieve charitable, humanitarian, and developmental goals.

 

Foundation Council:

The council is composed of a president and a minimum of five members, including the president. The president shall appoint a deputy to carry out his duties in case of absence. The term of membership in the council is three (3) years, which is automatically renewed for additional terms.
