Ministerial Decision No. (159) of 2024 Regarding the Formation of the Union Property Grievances Committee

 

Based on Ministerial Decision No. (159) of 2024, which aims to form a committee specialized in reviewing grievances from individuals and companies related to Union property.

 

The committee is tasked with specific duties and responsibilities to ensure fairness in handling eviction cases and the transfer of property. The decision outlines the details of the conditions and regulations for submitting grievances, as well as the procedures for convening committee meetings and making decisions. It also includes final provisions related to the implementation and official publication of decisions.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of the Committee

The committee is responsible for reviewing grievances submitted by individuals or companies required to surrender or vacate Union property for specific reasons, such as unauthorized use or expiration of the usage period. If the committee finds a violation, it recommends issuing an eviction decision. The committee’s decisions on grievances are final, and it prepares periodic reports for the minister about its activities.

 

Submitting a Grievance

A person who receives a notice to surrender or vacate Union property must submit a grievance request to the ministry within five working days. The request must include an official letter and supporting documents proving the complainant’s status. The grievance is recorded in a special register with the committee.

 

Committee Meetings and Decisions

The committee holds meetings at the invitation of its chairperson, and meetings are valid with the presence of a majority of members. Decisions are made by consensus or majority, and the committee must issue its decisions within ten working days of receiving the grievance. Meeting minutes and decisions are documented, and decisions can be issued by circulation in urgent cases.

 

Responsibilities of the Committee Secretary

The committee secretary is responsible for notifying members of meeting dates, preparing the agenda, documenting decisions, and following up on their implementation. They also ensure the readiness of the venue or technology used for meetings and may be assigned additional tasks by the committee chairperson.
