Cabinet Resolution No. (59) of 2025

Concerning the Guidelines for Disbursing Social Support to the Unemployed

As part of efforts to enhance the social protection framework and ensure a dignified standard of living for citizens in the United Arab Emirates, the Cabinet has issued a resolution regulating the disbursement of social support to individuals who are unemployed, whether due to termination of employment, or for social, medical, or humanitarian reasons. The resolution aims to provide temporary monthly financial assistance to unemployed individuals and their families to help them meet their basic needs, in accordance with specific conditions and criteria that ensure fairness, equality, and consideration of the unique humanitarian and social circumstances of each case.

 

General Eligibility Criteria:

✅The applicant must be a UAE national.

✅Must be at least 25 years old.

✅The household income must be lower than the approved support amount.

 

Eligible Categories:

✅Individuals whose employment has been terminated by a public or private sector entity.

✅Persons released from correctional institutions.

✅Individuals recovering from substance abuse, following completion of a rehabilitation program.

 

Financial Support Amounts:

✅AED 5,000 per month for the primary beneficiary.

✅AED 3,500 per month for the spouse (if eligible).

✅AED 2,000 per month for individuals released from prison.

✅AED 1,000 per month for the spouse of a released inmate.

✅In addition to children and education allowances.

 

Application Procedure:

✅Applications must be submitted through the Ministry of Community Development by completing the official form and attaching the following:

✔️Emirates ID

✔️Proof of employment termination or release from institution

✔️Income statement

✔️Any other relevant supporting documents based on the applicant’s case.
