International forum on inheritance law

On Thursday, May 5, our Managing Partner, Dr. Haitham, was one of the speakers of the International Forum on Inheritance Law, the first international forum on succession organized by the Milan Bar Association and supported by the Italian Ministry of Justice, that had taken place, from May 5 to May 7. During the forum, speakers from 14 countries discuss the characteristics of the succession system of their respective countries with the purpose of discovering how inheritance is managed in countries with different legal systems and providing a comparative view of the main differences between civil and common law systems.

Likewise, Dr. Haitham presented a brief introduction on Inheritance law in the UAE, particularly about Law No. 14 of 2021 – Personal status for non-Muslim foreigners on inheritance for Non- Muslim foreigners. He also discussed how a foreigner could register will under the law along with how a Non-Muslim Family Court established under the law functions.
